Francis Charles (Peter) Causebrook was the son of Mr and Mrs Frank Causebrook, of 2 Gordon Street, Rushden.

He died on 31st August 1943, aged 23 years, and is commemorated at Thanbyuzayaat War Cemetery: Grave B1. B.10.

Educated at Wellingborough Grammar School, he later became a member of the Wellingborough Town Rugby Football Club, and of the Rushden Swimming Club.

He was a clerk in the office of the Rushden Sanitary Inspector before joining the Army in October 1939, and as a result of his former occupation became attached to a mobile bath unit.

He was taken prisoner by the Japanese in 1941.  In April 1943 the International Red Cross confirmed that he was a prisoner of war at Malai Camp.  He died the following August in a prison camp on the borders of Thailand (then called Siam).
